Amy Gastelum

As a writer and radio producer, I pursue stories that explore the binding tissue of human experience. My background as a Registered Nurse informs my work with a hearty blend of empathy and investigative drive. With each project, I try to confront the failures of mainstream media, and whether I’m interviewing a courageous teenage mother, a drawbridge operator, or a bestselling author – I’m captivated by the construct of personal truth. Our individual histories and mythologies are the fibers of our unique and collective human identity.  In my work, I hope to demonstrate the capacity of free expression and sincere attention.
